Meet Our Founder

Lincoln’s connection with Asia began as a teenager, when he first travelled solo to India at the age of 16. That formative journey sparked a lifelong love of travel, culture and people, and laid the foundation for a career devoted to creating meaningful travel experiences. In his early twenties, Lincoln began leading small group tours in India, sharing the depth and richness he had discovered. These early experiences shaped a philosophy of travel centred on authenticity, flexibility and genuine engagement with place.

In 2007 he founded India Unbound, drawing on years of lived experience and time spent living in Mumbai to design custom private journeys that went far beyond the usual tourist routes. India Unbound soon became known among Australian travellers for its thoughtful itineraries, blending iconic sights with hidden corners, distinctive stays and connections with expert local hosts. Building on its success, Lincoln later established Sri Lanka Unbound and, in 2017, Remarkable East, which offers small group tours across Asia with an emphasis on cultural immersion and comfort.

With Asia Unbound launching in 2025, Lincoln and the team extend this approach across the wider region, from Japan and Vietnam to Bhutan and Indonesia. Every journey is individually designed, balancing must-see highlights with opportunities to experience the everyday character of a destination. At the heart of Asia Unbound is a commitment to responsible travel: avoiding mass-market practices, working with trusted local partners, and ensuring travel leaves a positive impact.     From there, our team will design a tailored proposal based on your input. This first draft sets out suggested routes, hotels, guides and activities, which we refine together until the itinerary feels like the perfect fit for you. Every detail is adjusted around your interests and pace.

    Once you’re happy with the plan, we move to confirmation. At this stage, a deposit secures your hotels, guides and arrangements with our local partners. The remaining balance is due before you depart, after which we provide a comprehensive travel pack with daily schedules, contact numbers and practical advice.

    Throughout your journey, you’ll be supported by private drivers and expert guides who can adapt plans along the way. Behind the scenes, our team is available 24/7 to ensure everything runs smoothly, leaving you free to enjoy your trip with confidence and ease.
